A dog grooming salon in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, has installed poo bag dispensers in the town centre in an attempt to reduce dog fouling.
BOS Dogs Grooming Salon installed the first dispenser on a lamp-post outside the shop with a message attached to it urging dog owners to be responsible and remove dog poo, reported Burnham-on-Sea.com.
Owner Niki-Lou French said: “There has been a lot of talk lately of dog fouling over the pavements and play areas in our town which, as a small business, I have also personally been affected by.
“So I feel strongly that this issue needs to be addressed, and as a business owner working in the pet industry I feel that we have a responsibility to try to help educate and encourage dog owners to be respectful and clean up after their pet in public…
“I’m really hoping that the town and public will get behind it to ensure our lovely town stays clean and safe for us all to enjoy.”
