BBC Radio 4 consumer programme ‘You and Yours’ featured the growing popularity of fish keeping in its early December programme. During lockdown many people took on a new pet – not just cats and dogs, fish found a new fan-base too.
The programme heard from 11-year-old fish keeper Neve Haines from Wokingham in Surrey, as well as Dick Mills of the Federation of British Aquatic societies.
Neve discusses her joy in her wide variety of tanks – her goldfish tank being the favourite – and of showing her fish online, while Dick gives some views from his 60-years’ experience of keeping fish, from his first fish obtained from a ‘certain London department store’.
