A new online, Ofqual-regulated course is being offered to help pet shop owners and staff meet the requirements of the Animal Activities Licensing (AAL) laws.
The Level 3 Award for Pet Care in Retail qualification from Animal Courses Direct meets the AAL requirements for the Higher Standard. It is the latest up-to-date training for pet shop owners and staff to learn about animal welfare and ethical best practices within the retail environment.
The qualification comprises 103 hours of study spread over six units, studied online at the student’s own pace and with full tutor support. Successful completion results in an Ofqual regulated qualification and certificate.
The course has specifically been designed for the pet care retail sector and will provide learners with the latest knowledge in pet care including information on customer care, advising customers, animal treatments, animal handling, nutrition and animal enrichment.
The qualification has been designed for anyone over the age of 16 seeking to work with animals in a pet shop environment. The course is open entry and no prior qualifications are necessary.
Retail pet shops require staff with in-depth knowledge and technical expertise, who are equipped not only to care for animals but also to assist customers with purchasing the correct animal care equipment, says Animal Courses Direct. It also believes that successful completion of the qualification will enhance employment prospects.
This Level 3 Award for Pet Care in Retail course is available to purchase at £450 or £150 in three-monthly instalments through Klarna payment plans on via animalcoursesdirect.co.uk.
