The Pet Food Manufacturers’ Association (PFMA) has joined forces with the Webinar Vet to host a Pet Obesity Awareness Day virtual event.
This free CPD event day is on Wednesday October 13 and will explore the growing problem of pet obesity and the ways in which vets and vet nurses can help to tackle it.
The expert panel of speakers includes Professor Alex German and Georgia Woods-Lee from the University of Liverpool, Professor Thomas Webb from the Psychology Department of Sheffield University and John Chitty, co-director of a small animal / exotics practice in Andover.
Presentations will cover the range of pet species and will provide practical tools and guidance on how best to tackle pet obesity and how to communicate with pet owners on this delicate subject.
Nicole Paley, PFMA deputy chief executive, said: “We are delighted to be working with The Webinar Vet to address pet obesity. As it is National Pet Obesity Awareness Day, we want to put the spotlight on this complex issue and encourage vets and vet nurses to join us.”
