WildThings has launched a new easy-pour packet of swan & duck food specifically designed to make it easier for people to take out and about.
The product has no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and includes vitamins and minerals to provide essential nutrients. WildThings says it is a healthier alternative to bread, which can be harmful in excessive amounts.
The handy packet was developed following extensive research and feedback, with 90% of respondents saying they would consider buying the product after sampling it.
Almost all (95%) also said they would swap to a healthier alternative to bread.
Julie Butcher, head of marketing at WildThings, said: “Feeding too much bread to waterfowl can be fatal, along with causing disease, deformity and malnutrition, which is why we want to stress the importance of responsible feeding.
“Our product has been developed to be nutritious, environmentally-friendly and keep waterfowl safe and healthy. It floats on water so that it remains accessible for longer and helps to prevent pollution because uneaten food usually sinks to the bottom of the lake and rots. This remains where it’s needed – on the water’s surface.
“The new handy size, which complements our 1.5kg, 5kg and 13kg bags, will help encourage the public to take the product on-the-go and means that the portion size for the waterfowl is reduced accordingly.”
