Football legend and TV personality Harry Redknapp officially opened Jollyes’ new store in Poole, Dorset, last Saturday (August 20) alongside his wife Sandra and their bulldog Barney.
Also present at the opening event was local BCP Council chair Nigel Hedges, while the Rev Bryony Morrison of nearby St James’ Church conducted a blessing for dogs and their owners who turned out to see the event.
Matt Godwin, regional manager for Jollyes, said: “It was amazing to see the pet parents of Poole turn out in force for the opening of our first store in Dorset, and a special thanks to Barney – and of course his mum and dad – for coming to open the store.”
In the run-up to the launch, the retailer ran a search for ‘Poole’s Best Pets’ in partnership with community radio station Hot Radio, with winners each receiving a £35 Jollyes voucher and an invite to the opening event.
The 5,000 sq ft store, Jollyes’ first branch in Dorset, is located at Unit 1C, Wessex Gate East Retail Park and will employ 10 colleagues led by acting store manager Tom Amos.
Backed by Kester Capital, Jollyes now has more than 80 stores across the UK.
