The Kennel Club has launched a joint initiative with Asda, which will see its annual Crufts show partner with the supermarket chain for a number of activities.
The collaboration includes the launch of an educational hub on the Crufts website providing healthcare advice and money-saving feeding tips as well as a quiz for pet owners, with the same information accessible via QR codes in Asda stores. A new online Asda Crufts Pet Show has also been created on the Crufts website and social media channels, with prizes for participants, while a range of value pet products is available in Asda stores.
The first competition, ‘Best pet companion’ will go live on May 15, the winner of which will get a printed framed picture of their pet. Further events will be taking place over the next six weeks with a best in show finale on June 23, where the winner will get the ultimate Crufts 2024 VIP experience.
Helen Fox, chief operating officer at The Kennel Club, organisers of Crufts, said: “Pets do so much for us and this partnership is all about giving back to our loyal companions, celebrating the joy they bring to their lives and helping to support pet owners. We are excited to be working with Asda, who shares with us our love not just for dogs, but all pets, and our values in promoting responsible pet ownership.”
Raj Varma, senior buying manager at Asda, Pet and Paper, added: “We are particularly excited with this partnership as it’s a great chance to get behind the scenes and see what it is that people love so much about their pets, with fantastic prizes on offer, too. Through the information and advice available on the Crufts Paw-tal, and our fantastic range of products in stores and online, we hope to make a real difference in helping our customers with pets throughout the country.”
