Pet care social enterprise Paws & Pause has expanded with a second branch in South London.
The female-owned dog daycare business, which provides employment training programs for individuals recovering from substance addiction and mental ill health, has expanded from its Brixton base to Peckham.
The enterprise claims to offer “a life-transforming experience for people seeking a fresh start”. Through its trainee program, participants develop confidence and skills to help them re-enter the workplace. Since opening in Brixton in 2019, 42 individuals have completed the six-month training program, 85% of whom have gone on to employment, education and self employment. With the new site opening, Paws & Pause will be able to extend its services to the local community in Peckham, as well as tripling the number of people it works with annually.
