The SeaLife Centre at Great Yarmouth has appealed for support after an insect conservation project was destroyed by an arson attack.
The team at the centre, together with members of the local community, designed and built the structure – named “Buggingham Palace” – and monitored the insects inside. The project was visited and enjoyed by local people and tourists alike.
The team aims to rebuild the project and has appealed for support to collect all the necessary bug bedding materials and other items.
The fire service attended and put out the blaze. A group of six teenagers were captured on CCTV deliberately setting the structure on fire, and the police have been made aware of the incident.
