Dr Roger Mugford, founder and chief executive of pet products manufacturer Company of Animals (COA), is stepping down after 44 years at the firm.
Dr Mugford is succeeded by his daughter Emily, who has been unanimously appointed by the COA Board as its new chief executive officer.
Dr. Emily Mugford is a veterinary surgeon with a wealth of experience in the pet industry and has been a director and COA board member for three years. She previously owned a veterinary practice and worked in various leadership roles within the veterinary industry,
Roger Mugford will continue to be involved in COA, overseeing The Pet Centre at the company’s UK headquarters on Ruxbury Farm.
COA brands include Halti, Baskerville muzzles, Pet Corrector and grooming brand Pet Head. The business has offices in the UK, USA and Australia and works closely with suppliers, distributors and partners in more than 50 countries. In 2019, COA received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
