European online pet platform Zooplus SE has appointed Steffen Schüller as its chief financial officer.
Schüller, who will also become a member of the company’s management board and executive committee, will be based at Zooplus’ headquarters in Munich, Germany. Effective from June 6, he will take over the CFO role from Andreas Maueröder, who has decided not to extend his contract.
Schüller joins from fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg, where he was the group chief financial officer. Prior to that, he was CFO of the automotive retailer Emil Frey and CFO of Lidl Digital. In his role at Zooplus, he will lead the departments of finance & accounting, financial planning & analysis, treasury and legal.
Zooplus supplies exclusive own food and accessories brands, advice on nutrition and pet lifestyle, loyalty programmes, and a subscription service. It offers local online shops in 30 European countries.
Chef executive Geoffroy Lefebvre said: “We are delighted to announce Steffen as new CFO.
“As the company continues its long-term growth trajectory and transformation into the ultimate European pet destination, Steffen’s extensive financial and retail expertise will be invaluable for zooplus’ further development. At the same time, I would like to thank Andreas Maueröder in the name of the whole zooplus team for his outstanding work and dedication over the past nearly 14 years. We sincerely wish him all the best for his professional and personal future.”
