Mars Inc. has announced key leadership changes in its veterinary health and science and diagnostics segments as part of its US$30bn pet care business.
Nefertiti (Nef) Greene, currently leading Mars Science & Diagnostics, will take on the role of global president for Mars Veterinary Health, starting in December.
Greene joined Mars to head the Science & Diagnostics division when it was first established, driving the division’s growth and developing a comprehensive diagnostics portfolio. With nearly 30 years’ experience, she will now lead Mars Veterinary Health across the company’s 3,000 veterinary hospitals and clinics worldwide.
In the second leadership change, Katie Devine has been appointed as the new global president of the Science & Diagnostics division, starting October 21.
Devine brings more than 25 years of experience in the sector, having most recently served as president of US General Medicines, Canada & Puerto Rico, at Johnson & Johnson.
Both will report to Loïc Moutault, president of Mars Petcare.
He said: “I’m delighted that Nef will step up to lead our Veterinary Health business, working with 70,000 passionate, pet-loving Associates.
“She is a hugely talented leader with decades of complementary experience across health and services. I’m confident under Nef’s leadership we will harness the knowledge, talent, and resources across our organization to support the veterinary profession and deliver world leading care for pets.”
He added: “We are also delighted to welcome Katie to Mars and are excited for the next phase of growth for the Science & Diagnostics business.
“Diagnostics in animal health is so important, because pets can’t talk – so innovative diagnostics capabilities enable veterinary professionals to better understand and respond to companion animal health needs. I’m confident Katie is the right leader to continue the great progress of the last two years.”
As well as Mars’ well-known pet food brands, the company also owns an international network of pet hospitals as well as global veterinary diagnostics business Antech.
