Hampshire independent retailer Healthy Pet Store is to support dog shelters in the Southampton area with its second annual Kong Stuff-a-thon, a special event in celebration of Kong Day, supported by the renowned toy manufacturer.
The event will take place on Sunday April 6 at Healthy Pet Store on Salisbury Road in Totton. Customers and members of the public are being encouraged to visit the store to help stuff Kong toys with treats such as fruit, vegetables, cheese, meats, and pastes donated by Healthy Pet Store’s suppliers. These will then be frozen and delivered to local rescue shelters the following day, including Second Chance Animal Rescue, St. Francis Animal Welfare, RSPCA The Arc and Blue Cross.
Healthy Pet Store managing director Deborah Burrows said: “We’re really excited about holding this event for the second time. This exciting initiative provides a unique opportunity for the community to come together, have fun, and do something good at the same time.
“We welcome individuals and families. Whether you are a long-time pet caregiver, new to the world of pet caregiving or just want to do something for shelter dogs in need, this is a wonderful opportunity to get involved and make a difference.”
