A US survey of aquascapers found that the hobby was’ fun and affordable’.
The poll by website Aquarium Friend sampled 1,089 aquascapers across the globe.
Generally hobbyists spent $100 to $500 (£75 to £375) setting up their tanks and up to $50 a month on maintenance. The survey also uncovered a new, younger generation of enthusiasts, with 35% being millennials and 32% generation Z.
Aquarium Friend said that aquascaping has been around since the 1930s and is gaining in popularity.
