An aquatic pet store lost many of its fish when authorities mistakenly cut off the shop’s power supply during a raid on an illegal gambling den.
The incident happened in the city of Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, when police and city council authorities were involved in a joint operation. It was then that the squad disconnected the electricity supply to the wrong outlet following confusion about the exact location of the premises.
Authorities have now admitted their error and said that efforts were being made to remedy things with the aquatic store’s owner, following news of the mistaken raid and dead fish trending on social media.
