The Ornamental Aquatic Trade Association is reminding retailers that there are some items that need to be removed from shelves from August.
All barley straw extract products can no longer be sold from August 1, 2020. Unprocessed barley straw can still be sold, ie in pouches and bags.
From August 15, retailers will no longer be able to sell two aquatic plants Salvinia molesta (Giant Salvinia) & Gymnocoronis spilanthoides (Senegal tea plant).
Also now banned from sale by the EU Alien Invasive Species regulation is Plotosus lineatus (striped eel catfish).
