JBL has taken another important step in its efforts to become even more sustainable.
After equipping its new buildings with solar systems (which was completed last summer), the German aquatics manufacturer is now purchasing CO2-neutral green hydropower electricity from the local energy supplier Pfalzwerke.
JBL general manager Roland Böhme said: “The rising CO2 content in the earth’s atmosphere acts like a gigantic CO2 plant for the oceans and thus lowers the pH value of the marine water. This effect, combined with the pollution and warming of the oceans, comprises the final blow for the coral reefs.
“Talking about it is one thing, but working on it is another. At JBL, we try to do our part to protect the environment.”
