The Environment Agency has released thousands of young grayling into rivers to boost fish stocks.
The move in Northumberland and County Durham will help boost ‘vital’ fish stocks supporting wider projects and the agency also hopes it will encourage more people to go fishing.
All the fish were reared at the Environment Agency’s national fish farm in Calverton, Nottinghamshire.
