Pawfect Foods has been shortlisted for the PetQuip Awards under the Best Treat category.
Pawfect has launched a number of products this year including herbal infusions Pawfect Doggy Cuppa and freeze-dried fruit and veg treats Nature’s Munch, but it is the Himalayan Cheese Treats – available in puff, bar and strip formats – that are up for an award.
The cheese treats are made from milk from yaks and cows, ‘raised in pristine, chemical-free pastures’ at a 15,000ft altitude.
A spokesman for Pawfect Foods said: “This is an unrushed treat made the old-fashioned way, free from overt mechanisation and fast-moving conveyor belts, a cheese-themed treat that has permission to lie in the sun for 35 days before being given a sumptuous smoky twang thanks to being smoke dried in some weather-worn sheds.”
The PetQuip Awards will be held on the first night of PATS Telford on September 22.
