Export association PetQuip has secured cash grants for international pet trade exhibition Interzoo, which takes place in Germany from May 19-22.
The funding is available to SMEs (small-to-medium-enterprises) that qualify under the Department for International Trade Tradeshow Access Scheme. It will enable British companies to exhibit their products at Interzoo in a cost-effective way, while also benefiting from the range of practical research, logistical and promotional support offered by PetQuip, before, during and after the event.
Eligible SMEs looking to exhibit at Interzoo can apply for cash grants of £1,000.
Interzoo is Europe’s leading biennial show for the pet sector, a sell-out trade exhibition occupying a dozen halls and attracting 39,000 key trade pet product buyers from around the world.
PET SPECIALIST
In 2018 Interzoo attracted 38,656 trade visitors from 126 countries. Nearly 10,000 of the visitors were from Germany, but around 74% of the visitors were from abroad with Italy, Spain, France, the UK, The Netherlands, Czech Republic and Poland being the top eight in the visitor country rankings. While around 29,500 of the visitors were from Europe, around 6,000 came from across Asia and the Middle East, nearly 1,300 visited from Central and South America, nearly 1,000 from North America, more than 500 from Africa and more than 300 from Australia/New Zealand.
Around 60% of the visitors were from the pet specialist retail and grooming sector, with 28% from the pet departments of garden centres, DIY stores and country stores. Those attending also include vets, discount stores, drugstores/chemists, supermarkets and manufacturers.
The PetQuip team provides a show support package for exhibitors at this event, from organising space and stand-build if required to PR coverage before, during and after the events plus help to maximise sales leads and guidance regarding converting these to new export sales.
A total of 56 companies joined the PetQuip British exhibiting group at Interzoo in 2018 and demand is already ‘very high’ for 2020.
Only a few stand packages remain at this show, so interested companies should [email protected] to check on space availability and eligibility for funding and to ask for an application form.
