The Pet Industry Federation (PIF) is hosting a webinar this week to help pet businesses understand changes to barcodes on consumer packs which are being phased in across Europe.
Taking place on Wednesday April 26 at 2pm, the webinar will bring together PIF, BuyerDock (a GS1 partner), GS1 and Pets Around the World to raise awareness of forthcoming changes to barcodes.
The webinar will outline how to comply with new EU packaging regulations in France and Italy and how to stay up to date with other country’s regulations as and when they change, such as Spain, Portugal and Poland.
It will also highlight why all packaging will need the new 2D barcodes moving forward, and the marketing opportunities that can be leveraged by companies using the new codes, as they can capture much more information than existing barcodes
Attendees will see a working demonstration of how the BuyerDock system makes it easy to generate the new barcode requirement.
PIF chief executive Nigel Baker said: “We are delighted to be partnering with BuyerDock on this important webinar. Any pet company which uses packaging for consumers needs to be aware of how the forthcoming changes will impact them and can take advantage of being ‘ahead of the curve’ in introducing 2D barcodes to their packaging.
“Attendance will be really relevant for companies that export to France and Italy, as the change to 2D barcodes in those countries is imminent.”
The webinar is free to attend and is open to both PIF members and non-members. To register, and for more information, visit: https://petfederation.co.uk/events/
