In the wake of an announcement last week by Scotland’s First Minister that NHS Louisa Jordan will be retained as a contingency through the winter, the SEC will not be available to host The Dog Lover Show in March next year.
The organisers are therefore moving the date for the show to September 2021 as March is no longer feasible. They say the floorplan, reservations, bookings and deposits paid will be carried forward.
Event director Vic Shields said: “In light of the current covid-19 pandemic deferring to the weekend of September 4-5, 2021 makes sense for the safety of our visitors and everyone involved in making The Dog Lover Show.
STRONG
“As the pet industry continued to grow pre covid-19, we do expect it to remain constant and return as strong as it was.”
Vic said that ‘on a positive note’ he has launched a virtual event, The Scottish Pet Awards 2020.
“Scotland’s Pet Industry has finally an awards show, with the public voting and nominating their favourite pet businesses,” he said. “The event gives Scottish Pet Businesses their chance to shine.
“We invite everyone to participate and get involved and next year in 2021 we would hope to hosting the event in a city centre venue, with a fun night out for all nominees and pet businesses taking part.”
