Two successful ‘live’ days at Virtual Petindex (VPI) took place on Tuesday and Wednesday last week (March 16-17), providing a ‘much-needed’ opportunity for exhibitors to showcase new products and meet new and existing customers, says show organiser the Pet Industry Federation.
One thousand one hundred and forty-nine people logged in to the show over the two ‘live’ days, when more interactive features of VPI took place such as video chatting and live webinars. Each exhibitor will now receive a full data breakdown of who visited their stand during the live days – and another report once the whole show has closed – to enable them to follow up new leads and close sales.
Nigel Baker, PIF chief executive, said: “We have been really pleased with the success of our third VPI.
“In the continued absence of live trade shows, Virtual Petindex provided a perfect platform for over 20 new pet products to be launched to the UK pet market. In addition, the live discussion panels on topics such as visual merchandising, the experience of pet retail around the world and minimising the risk of dog theft, attracted a fantastic number of visitors, who really engaged with our expert speakers, sharing their knowledge and experience.”
Vicky Weston, of Hug Pet Food, said: “As a new pet food manufacturer we were keen to get our name out there and this virtual show has been a great way to connect with lots of new people and chat to other like-minded pet professionals.
“We have made some great contacts so far and we are only a few days in so we are excited to see what comes our way by the end of the two weeks.”
Visitors who didn’t manage to see visit the show on the ‘live’ days, needn’t worry, however, as the platform remains open until March 30 for visitors to browse stands, download price lists and product information and view the range of pet business related webinars.
