A specialist maker of wildlife products has won the Best Pet Care, Aquatics and Wild Bird Care Product category at the prestigious GIMA Awards.
Wildlife World, based in Tetbury, picked up the award at a glitzy presentation event at Celtic Manor Resort near Newport for its Artisan Bird Nesters.
The nesters are ethically produced using natural and recycled materials. They also help to support Artisan workers in Southern Bangladesh who make them, funding the survival of many women and their families from rural communities in desperate poverty.
The awards judges said: “Important social and environmental values are embedded into good-looking, well made, practical products.”
Other finalists were Smart Garden (Wild Wings Feeding Station), Capi Europe (Design Butterfly Hotel), and Westland Horticulture (Peckish Natural Balance Bird Food Range).
Wildlife World picked two other awards – Best Point of Sale Material and Best Sustainable Consumer Product Packaging.
The awards were organised by GIMA, a membership organisation of around 150 members representing the majority share of suppliers and manufacturers operating within the UK gardening industry.
