RAW dog food business Poppy’s Picnic has launched a cat food range.
Under sub-brand Tabby’s Table, the new range has been created by the company’s resident ‘cat fans’ and honed by vet and nutritional consultant Dr Charlotte Gray, who formulated each recipe to meet with the FEDIAF nutritional guidelines.
Purry Power is a range of complete meals in meatball format for adult cats. The recipes have been naturally balanced, with only a little added taurine to ensure the levels of this vital amino acid are kept above the minimum. Every other vitamin and mineral is provided naturally by the ingredients.
Louise Mackintosh, MD of Poppy’s Picnic, said: “This range has been a long time coming. It’s taken a while for many reasons, not least because getting the recipes right for cats is extremely hard, as every raw food manufacturer who’s ever attempted it would agree. But we have cracked it!
“The cats love it and we are incredibly proud to have achieved our ultimate goal of naturally-balanced recipes. We have added no supplements, the one exception being taurine because it is so vital for a cat to survive. Everything else comes from our high quality ingredients.
“With these complete and balanced meatballs, it’s really never been easier to feed cats a raw diet. Tabby’s Table is now the perfect partner to Poppy’s Picnic and we look forward to welcoming the nation’s cats into our world.”
The new recipes come in in three varieties: Free Range Chicken, Beef & Chicken and Turkey with Lamb, with RRPs of £4.05-£4.15.
A specialist kitten food is near completion and will join the range soon.
