Eco-friendly pet brand Adios Plastic is launching a range of compostable wipes for dogs.
The wipes are made in the UK and can be put into home composters, where they break down in between 30 to 60 days. Each pack has 25 wipes and the packaging, including the peel-back opening, is 100% recyclable.
Each wipe contains aloe vera and camomile and can be used for cleaning paws and human hands, as well as more sensitive areas, and can be used alongside the company’s environmentally-friendly poo bags.
Founder Ben Dodd said: “When we launched the compostable poo bags they were so well received we knew we wanted to create a complementary clean-up product.
“Pet parents were picking up poo, and they needed wipes too. So we set out to create an affordable and eco-friendly wipe that they can take on walks along with their poo bags.
“The wipes are chemical free and safe for pets, so if they lick themselves where the wipe has been used, they’re not ingesting any nasties. They’re made of viscose and are fully compostable, so can go inside a poo bag and will break down naturally at the same time.
“Pet parents want eco-friendly choices and our aim this year is to take 10 tonnes of plastic out of the landfill by helping them replace plastic wipes with compostable ones.”
The wipes were tested by visitors at the PATS show at Sandown in March, and readers of PBW News were sent a sample of the new wipes with the June edition.
