A new app designed to support the health of dogs whilst also rewarding their owners for being more active is now available.
App users are encouraged and incentivised with Dogiz coins to improve the health of their pets by keeping them more active, with the coins used for discounts on products and services in the Dogiz shop. The Dogiz app has signed a partnership with Inspired Pet Nutrition’s Harringtons brand to make Harringtons products available in the shop, while owners will also have the opportunity to participate in Harringtons’ ‘Miles for Meals’ programme where, for each mile walked with their dog, a meal is donated to a dog in a shelter.
Dog owners will be able to take part in a range of different activities to earn rewards, including tracking walks, weight measurement, quizzes and memory or mood updates associated with their pets. They will also be able to see how their dog’s fitness levels compare with other canines in their local area via a leaderboard.
The platform was created by students Danny Djanogly and Alon Zlatkin, who bonded over the struggles of raising their dogs whilst juggling a busy urban life.
Djanogly, now coo of the platform, said: “Our mission is to help owners gain a deeper understanding of their dog’s health and reward them for being more active with their dogs. As dog owners, we know how hard it can be to manage your pup’s life, so we created Dogiz to do all the hard work for you.
“We are so proud that established and well-loved British brand Harringtons understands the Dogiz vision and has joined the platform.”
Will Bushell, head of dog marketing at Harringtons, added: “At Harringtons we are on a mission to make natural, wholesome pet food accessible and affordable for all – to ultimately to ensure pets across the nation are happier and healthier. Our partnership with Dogiz will allow us to reward owners that are looking to improve the health of their dogs.”
The Dogiz app is available to download from the App Store and the Google Play Store.
