Anxiety awareness campaign My Anxious Dog has launched a range of lead slips, designed to give nervous dogs a “voice” when out on walks.
The slips, supplied in the campaign’s familiar yellow colour, feature a range of messages such as “Anxious”, “In Training”, “Do Not Touch”, “Scared of Men” and “Keep Dogs Away” to help address common challenges faced by dogs with anxiety, sensory impairments, or health issues.
The lightweight slips with reflective trim are fitted with two popper fasteners and are machine washable at low temperatures.
Sarah Jones, founder of My Anxious Dog and creator of the #dogsinyellow campaign, said: “Walking an anxious dog shouldn’t feel overwhelming. These lead slips empower owners to advocate for their dogs, creating a calmer and a more confident walk.”
She added: “Before yellow, I struggled to advocate for Bella. Now, people respect her space, and walks have become a much calmer experience for both of us. These lead slips are the first step for anyone who feels apprehensive about using yellow as a space-awareness tool.”
