Pet health technology firm, PitPat, claims to have developed the first subscription-free tracker to incorporate both the latest LTE-M and NB-IoT technologies.
The company’s innovation gives the tracker better power performance, coverage and network availability, as well as a long battery life. These changes help overcome issues such as size, short battery life, ongoing subscriptions and unreliable performance, says PitPat.
The new tracker made its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this month. The device has an RRP of £149 and the accompanying app, compatible with iOS and Android devices, is free to download without a subscription. The unit is available in five colour styles.
Chief executive Andrew Nowell said: “When we set out to make the PitPat Dog GPS Tracker, we knew it had to stand up to the high standards that our customers expect fromus. Like all our products, it’s been developed specifically with dogs in mind, from the exceptional technology at its heart, to the compact, waterproof design and industry-leading battery life.
“We are giving pet parents peace of mind that they can find their dog if the unexpected happens, or check in on their dog’s location or activity whilst they are apart.”
