Royal Canin has expanded its range of products for dogs who suffer from adverse food reactions with the launch of two new products for puppies and small dogs.
Hypoallergenic Puppy is recommended for puppies over six months of age estimated to weigh more than 4kg in adulthood, and contains specially-adapted levels of nutrients, including calcium and phosphorous. The product has all the benefits of the brand’s Hypoallergenic Adult canine dry diet and minimises the risk of Adverse Food Reaction (AFR) thanks to a formula based on a single hydrolysed protein source from soya, according to the company.
The second new line, Anallergenic Small Dog, is based on the existing Anallergenic canine dry adult recipe but is now formulated for animals with an ideal adult body weight under 10kg. This diet is recommended or use in dogs suffering from AFR, dermatological issues and/or gastro-intestinal signs. The small dog recipe has additional dental benefits to help limit tartar formation with a kibble size and texture more suitable to the jaw size of small breed dogs, explains the manufacturer.
Dr Lauren Hayes, Scientific Affairs Manager at Royal Canin, said: “The launch of these two new diets is part of our ongoing mission to provide precise and individualised nutrition, so the right dog gets the right nutrition at the right time. This means our Hypoallergenic range has been expanded from three to four dry diet variations and one wet option, while expanding Anallergenic dog from one to two dry diet options.
“The newly launched Hypoallergenic Puppy means the unique dietary needs of growing puppies can be met at the same time as supporting those with adverse food reactions. Meanwhile, our Anallergenic diet has been newly adapted to meet the unique needs of dogs under 10kg with the launch of Anallergenic small dog.”
