Sustainable dog accessories brand Tangle has expanded its range with the launch of a dog bowl made from end-of-life fishing nets.
The medium-sized, teal marble-effect bowl shows the natural colour of the nets and features a non-slip ring on the base.
The Tangle brand is on a mission to put an end to so-called “ghost nets” (lost or abandoned fishing nets) entering the oceans and killing marine life by recycling them into a range of of dog accessories. It is estimated that nearly half of the plastic in the ocean comes from discarded ghost nets.
Tangle co-founder Xavier Warburton said: “As an eco-conscious dog owner, it was so important to me to have a positive impact on the environment and also create top of the range products that last. Following the incredible success of our first product, the Tangle Dog Lead, which we launched last year, we know that dog owners want to make a difference too. They love our products and have been patiently waiting for the next product launch, the Tangle Dog Bowl.
“By creating our beautifully made dog products from recycled nets, Tangle’s helping animal lovers save marine life in the oceans, and we’re now on track to stop 526 tennis courts worth (137,800 sqm) of fishing nets becoming ghost nets this year.”
Each product sold supports Ghost Fishing UK, a charity dedicated to removing abandoned, lost and discarded fishing gear from UK waters.
The Tangle Dog Bowl is available from July 1, with an RRP of £29.99.
