Wilsons is celebrating 160 years in the pet food business with a limited-edition haggis recipe.
Having produced pet food in Scotland since 1861, Wilsons now provides customers across the UK with a range of nutritious and delicious cold-pressed, working dog and raw frozen dog food using 100% natural and quality ingredients.
Originally based in Dundee, Wilsons now has two purpose-built factories in Perthshire, with a new, higher capacity factory currently being developed to support their recent increase in demand.
As a proud Scottish company, it has produced a delicious haggis recipe in both cold pressed and raw frozen options, suiting all types of feeders. Using a blend of delicious, single sourced lamb, the new recipe celebrates the firm’s Scottish heritage by giving dogs the chance to enjoy this national dish.
The premium cold pressed ‘Hunting Haggis’ is a complete meal, which can be fed as simply as the rest of the range, available in 2kg cardboard boxes and 10kg paper bags, while the Haggis Supper raw frozen dog food is a complimentary meal in 500g compostable trays, which is recommended to be served alongside freshly prepared vegetables – customers could even add neeps and tatties (swedes and potatoes) for a traditional Scottish meal.
Wilsons Pet Food MD, Craig Wallace said: “The Wilsons name has been around for 160 years. In order to celebrate the achievement of surviving for such a long time, we wanted to do something special.
“As a Scottish company it seemed only right that we created a limited edition haggis range so that dogs across the UK can enjoy this amazing meal just as we do.”
The new haggis recipe is available to purchase online or in select stockists across the UK.
