Supreme Petfoods has launched Harry Hamster Fruity Nutty Mix as an extension to its Tiny Friends Farm range.
The new flavour variant combines shell-on sunflower seeds, peanut kernels and redskin peanuts with tasty apple, carrot, maize and peas, for maximum palatability. Suitable for all breeds including dwarf hamsters, it contains no added sugar and no artificial colours.
The Harry Hamster brand has experienced 37% year-on-year growth in the last 12 months.
Claire Hamblion, marketing director at Supreme Petfoods, says now is the right time to expand the company’s range of hamster foods.
She said: “With a 200% increase in hamster ownership over the course of the pandemic, the demand for high quality nutrition for these small pets has never been higher. Our Harry Hamster Tasty Mix has proved to be very popular, with a 70% share of the hamster food market.
“Today’s millennial owners are much more aware of their pet’s nutritional needs – they appreciate choice and retailers will benefit from stocking an extended range. It’s important to create products that match what people are looking for but also result in better health and welfare for pets. Being responsive to consumer needs means we can also serve the retailer well.”
Tiny Friends Farm Harry Hamster Fruity Nutty Mix comes in a 700g pack size with a recommended retail price of £2.99. POS material including posters, care guides and loyalty schemes are available for retailers.
