International pet food supplier Essential Foods has appointed David Elsass to be its new chief executive officer.
Elsass was previously an independent consultant focusing on commercial strategy development for start-ups and scale-ups. He has also held the post of chief marketing & digital officer at GripGrab and as vp of the consumer division at 3 Denmark. In his new role he will work closely with Essential Foods founder Christian Degner-Elsner to raise awareness of the brand in major European markets to reach the same level the company enjoys in its most successful markets of Denmark, UK and Japan.
Elsass said: “I was looking for a company that’s run with passion and has strong brand identity, an international profile, and a digital customer journey. That’s why I’m so excited to be part of Essential Foods.
“I’m looking forward to working with this passionate team, to continuing to give our customers and their dogs and cats great value, and to elevating the company to new heights.”
Degner-Elsner added: “I’m thrilled to welcome David as ceo of Essential Foods. David has a background from both major corporates and small businesses where he has delivered impressive results.
“He is also a proven leader with a strategic and digital mindset, which is perfectly aligned with our focus on digital growth. With David on board, I’ll be able to focus even more on our international markets, strategic partnerships and the continued evolution of our unique DNA.”
