Agria Pet Insurance has appointed Vicki Wentworth as managing director, succeeding Simon Wheeler from this month.
Vicki brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the specialist pet insurer, having worked extensively within the financial services industry with senior roles at Aviva, LV= and Wesleyan Assurance. Before this, her career in the military culminated with Vicki as a Squadron Commander, serving in Iraq undertaking casualty evacuation on the frontline.
“I am thrilled to be joining an organisation with a truly meaningful purpose and am very excited to build upon Agria’s striking success and growth within recent years,” she said.
“Having navigated through the tough challenges of the pandemic, the experienced and passionate team in the UK is incredibly well-positioned to continue delivering strong growth and profit results, while remaining true to the core values so fundamental to the business. These values set Agria apart, and as a keen animal-lover, steering an ambitious organisation that places its team and pets at its heart is something I cannot wait to begin.”
Vicki’s love of pets extends to her homelife, where she has a menagerie of mostly rescued animals, including horses, a dog, a cat, chickens and a couple of sheep.
Sonja Karaoglan, European business manager for Agria Djurforsäkring, said: “I am very pleased with the recruitment of Vicki. She comes with a strong experience and focus on people – both customers and employees – which fits very well with where our UK business is in its development curve.
“I think that she, together with our strong senior management team in the UK, can contribute to the continuous growth and positive development of the customer journey.”
Agria is one of the oldest pet insurers globally and has been insuring animals for more than 130 years.
