An entrepreneur who has developed an online marketplace for artisan pet product has been named as a finalist in the Best Business Women Awards 2020.
Lisa Baptiste of The Perfect Pet Nanny diversified her business ambitions during lockdown when there was not much call for animal boarding.
She said: “I saw this as an opportunity to review the business, develop my skills and fulfil a long-held dream to launch a planet-friendly pet product marketplace called Mooch & Gander, for artisans and businesses who produce ethical, eco-friendly and sustainable pet products in the UK.”
The aim of the platform is to help small artisans sell their wares and grow their business. It specialises in ethical, handmade and planet-friendly British pet products and gifts.
Debbie Gilbert, organiser of The Best Business Women Awards, said: “To be a finalist is a major achievement. The businesswomen selected have been chosen for their business acumen, determination, creativity and tenacity. All our finalists are all shining examples of being successful entrepreneurs who have proved their success to our judges.”
Lisa said: “I am delighted and humbled to have been shortlisted for this award. I love my business and I love my clients, both human and animal, and I appreciate their support and trust in the services I provide.”
The awards will be presented next April at a gala event, covid regulations permitting.
