Armitage Pet Care has sold its warehouse as it has outsourced its storage and distribution operation to a third party.
Based in Colwick, Nottinghamshire, Armitage Pet Care holds a Royal Warrant and is home to the Wafcol and Good Boy ranges. It supplies more than 2,000 products across the dog, cat, small animals, bird and fish categories.
Its 51,610sq ft distribution centre on the Colwick Industrial Estate has now been taken on by construction firm JRL Group.
Ian Muxlow, director in the commercial team at estate agent Savills Nottingham, said: “From launch to completion the sale took just three months, demonstrating the strong demand for industrial stock within Nottingham. Sizeable available freehold units remain a rare occurrence, which is why we managed to secure a good price on behalf of our client.”
Armitage’s history can be traced back to 1775 and it was granted its Royal Warrant in 1976.
It was acquired by investment firm Rutland Partners in 2017. Mark Andrews was appointed chief executive in May 2018, replacing Paul Bousfield.
