Dog food brand Carnilove is supporting the Bravehound charity, which provides assistance dogs to the families of service men and women in Scotland.
The charity was established in 2013 with a mission to help heal the invisible wounds of military veterans with specially trained assistance dogs.
Assistance dogs can provide companionship, a stimulus to exercise and a general structure to the day for veterans suffering with conditions such as PTSD, depression and anxiety. They are also trained to help facilitate daily life and tasks such as prompting their veteran to take medication, helping them navigate public transport and cope in crowds.
Bravehound provides regular training and hosts group sessions for the veterans and their assistance dogs, and Carnilove is providing food for 25 dogs currently in service with the charity.
Karen Rodger, director at Carnilove UK, said: “We are very proud to be supporting Bravehound. These wonderful dogs provide so much to their veterans, it’s only right they are fed a great diet. With its high meat content and zero grain, potato or fillers, Carnilove food rewards their hard work and will keep them in great condition.”
Fiona MacDonald, ceo of Bravehound, added: “There is so much demand amongst veterans for assistance dogs and we need support to help as many of them as possible. The support from Carnilove means we can ensure our dogs are getting the nourishment they need to keep giving the companionship and critical support to our veterans.”
Carnilove is made by Vafo and exclusively imported and distributed by BSB Products in the UK.
