Exotic pet businesses from all over the UK visited Essex last weekend for Peregrine Livefoods’ Open Day.
The reptile wholesaler hosted its first open day since 2015, attended by 150 people from 80 different businesses. As well as Peregrine Livefoods’ brands, ProRep, Aquaspectra, White Python, Exotics Keeper Magazine and FishScience, the event featured international brand ambassadors from the likes of ZooMed, Lucky Reptile, Zen Habitats, Aquarium Systems, MicroClimate, Psittacus and Responsible Reptile Keeping. Customers also had the first opportunity to see premium vivariums from US brand Zen Habitats up close.
Customers had the chance to see all areas of the business, including the greenhouse, the recently upgraded Animal Department and the day-to-day operations of the Livefoods Team as well as taking advantage of offers on discontinued lines and secure one-off deals on bulk items. The event was followed by dinner and drinks.
Chris Jones, managing director of Peregrine Livefoods, said: “It was great to see customers gather once again to discuss the incredible advances made within the exotic pet industry. It gave staff from all departments the opportunity to speak directly with customers and gave customers the chance to witness first-hand the exciting things happening at Peregrine Livefoods right now.”
Head of marketing Craig Thornton added: “All our staff worked extremely hard to make this open day happen, and it exceeded our expectations. We’re amid seismic shifts to the company, acquiring new brands and launching new products and Saturday was the perfect time for an event like this.”
