Peregrine Livefoods has outlined steps it will be taking to support shops as high streets move out of phase one of coronavirus restrictions.
The wholesaler says that although many shops have continued to trade as essential retailers, now is the time to begin thinking of restocking non-essential items and planning for increased footfall as more people go out and about.
Included in this is the potential sale of livestock – such as tortoises – with new shipments and UK-incubated livestock of a number of varieties becoming available over the coming months.
It is also opening a new website and says that fluctuations in availability of products and restrictions of hours of operation should ease.
The specialist wholesaler said: “With a decreasing number of new covid-19 cases and the continued easing of restrictions; it’s time to look to the future and plan for the inevitable changes ahead.”
