The National Pet College has launched the City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Education and Training, aimed at experienced dog groomers who want to share their expertise with others and upskill into teaching.
Delivered with a focus on how to teach and assess in a grooming environment, the qualification is delivered through 12 online, evening sessions by a qualified trainer and coach. Each learner should finish the course with a thorough understanding of how to plan and deliver inclusive teaching in a dog grooming setting, using appropriate resources and teaching methods.
“On completion of the City & Guilds qualification, each learner can begin their journey to becoming a dog grooming training centre, communicating their knowledge to new entrants into the pet industry,” a spokesman said.
Special discounts are available to Pet Industry Federation members.
Vicky Skinner, National Pet College’s head of education, added: “Experienced dog groomers who want to diversify their talent into teaching others will really benefit from this nationally recognised qualification, allowing them to develop the knowledge and skills to teach others to become exceptional groomers in the pet industry.
“We are delighted to be able to offer this course via an online channel, which means that learners from all across the UK can join us. After successful completion of the assignments they will be awarded with a nationally recognised qualification and will be able to deliver effective dog grooming lessons and assessments.”
