Estonian workers have rescued a dog from a freezing river – without realising that it was actually a wolf.
The men were working on the Sindi Dam on the Parnu River when they spotted the animal trapped in the icy water. After clearing a path through the ice, they drove the canine to a clinic for medical care, but vets had suspicions over the dog’s true nature.
A local hunter, familiar with the region’s animals, later confirmed it was a male wolf, reported BBC News.
