Police removed 25,000 bees that were clinging on to a metal awning at a Staten Island Ferry terminal in the US.
The swarm was first spotted by police lieutenant Michael Molinari, who summoned the New York Police Department’s beekeeper unit to the scene.
Officers from the unit wore protective netting and white beekeeping suit tops while sucking up the bees with a Colorado Bee Vac, which has a hose connected to a hive-like box.
The bees were taken back to a precinct station house, where there was a beehive on the roof, reported the New York Times.
