An Australian sheep that made headlines for the record-breaking weight of its fleece has died.
Chris, a merino aged around 10, is believed to have died of old age, reported Reuters.
The sheep was discovered in 2015 on the northern outskirts of Canberra, struggling to walk under the weight of its wool, which had not be shorn in more than five years.
The 40.2kg of wool removed, worth around $410 (£220), made the sheep the unofficial carrier of the world’s heaviest fleece.
