The US pet industry generated $103.6bn in annual sales last year, topping $100bn for the first time and beating the previous record set in 2019 by 6.7%.
In 2020, consumers spent $42bn on food and treats, $31.4bn on veterinary care and products and $22.1bn on live animals, non-prescription medications and other supplies, according to a new report from the American Pet Products Association.
