Burgess Pet Care has completed its greyhound and lurcher campaign, a two-week takeover of the company’s social media channels to raise awareness of the breeds.
The Yorkshire-based pet food company created Facebook frames for greyhound and lurcher owners to use on their profile pictures, and competitions to win bags of its Supadog Greyhound & Lurcher food range. Followers were also asked to nominate a greyhound and lurcher rescue centre to receive a donation of Supadog.
In all, Burgess gave and hand-delivered food worth £6,000 from the range to five rescue centres around the UK in an 800-mile road trip.
Jessica Parker, animal welfare and marketing assistant at Burgess Pet Care, said: “Rescue centres work tirelessly to rehome and support the health and happiness of animals. It’s been amazing seeing such a positive response to our greyhound and lurcher campaign, with dog lovers reiterating that these gorgeous dogs need all the help they can get. We hope the success of the campaign will encourage any future pet owners to welcome a greyhound or lurcher into the home when they’re looking for a new best friend.”
