Yorkshire-based pet accessory business Collared Creatures is giving 25% of the value of sales of any of its pink Harris Tweed collars to the Breast Cancer Now wear it pink campaign throughout October.
Breast Cancer Awareness month is a worldwide annual campaign involving thousands of organisations and highlighting the importance of breast awareness, education and research.
During the month, Breast Cancer Now (the merger of the two charities, Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now) aims to get as many people as possible involved in raising awareness and funds to help support its life-saving research and life-changing support.
DELIGHTED
The fundraising activities come to culmination with wear it pink day next Friday (October 18).
Collared Creatures has been creating handmade dog collars for more than six years, using 100% wool fabric hand-woven on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides.
Company founder Julie Greaves said she was delighted to be supporting the wear it pink campaign.
“Breast Cancer touches the lives of so many people in the UK and it is important to raise awareness of checking yourself and the importance of early diagnosis,” she said. “Breast Cancer Now carries out such good work in terms of research, care and support for patients.”
