Raw pet food delivery company Bella & Duke has launched a ‘Lend a Paw’ helpline for older customers in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
It is also offering 30% off a bundle of five raw dog food boxes for NHS workers.
The Scottish-based online pet brand said the covid-19 lockdown has left some of its more vulnerable customers feeling isolated and it wanted to do something to help.
Its customer service team will make daily calls to customers over 70 to check in and chat with anyone having a difficult day. The hotline is also open to receiving calls.
The company is also increasing its delivery slots to cope with the additional national demand for pet food. It has added an extra 5,000 delivery slots for its raw dog food hampers.
In the last two weeks the brand has seen a significant increase in the number of hampers being ordered and a 163% month-on-month rise in subscription renewals.
Tony Ottley, chief operating officer, said: “Our customers mean everything to us, so we’re making a special effort to do all we can for them during this time, especially those in age groups vulnerable to the virus.
“We’d like to ‘Lend a Paw’ if we possibly can. We’re checking in daily on customers who might just need a call to see how they’re doing and if there’s anything we can do to help. Even if these chats go outside of our working hours, it’s important to us that our customers are being looked after as well as their pets.”
