Seven UK dog charities are set to benefit from cash and product donations after being named as ‘Golden Shareholders’ by online retailer Your Dog’s Club.
The charities were nominated by the public after a two-month process, which accumulated over 4,500 votes. Each organisation will receive £1,000 worth of shares, product donations up to the value of £50 per month, and additional cash contributions.
The seven winners are Doris Banham Dog Rescue, Northern Ireland Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue, St Giles Animal Centre, Medical Detection Dogs, Service Dogs UK, Central German Shepherd Rescue and Oakwood Dog Rescue.
Jon Ralph, founder and managing director at Your Dog’s Club, said: “As a community of likeminded dog owners, we wanted our commitment to delivering unconditional love to not only shine through the products and tips we provide, but also in the actions we take to help other dog owners and the wider community.
“That’s why we’re extremely pleased to reward these fantastic charities with a host of pawsome rewards to celebrate their dedication to dogs across the UK.”
Trudie James, founder of Doris Banham Dog Rescue, added: “Becoming a Golden Shareholder means the world to us. We are the ‘last chance to live’ for the dogs we rescue because they have been thrown away and deemed not worthy of living by our society. Thank you so much to Your Dog’s Club for making this possible.”
