An established UK business really knows its beans when it comes to eco-friendly products and is now venturing into the pet market.
The Big Bean Bag Company says it is committed to developing a line of products to support the health of the environment. After a crowdfunding campaign raised more than £5,000, it rolled out the world’s first ‘eco-friendly’ bean bag, using a fully compostable, plant-based filling called Biofoam. Now, it has turned its attention to the pet market, developing what it describes as ‘the world’s first truly eco-friendly pet bed’.
“With an estimated 9.9 million people in the UK now owning a dog, it’s important to ensure that more needless plastic does not enter the environment,” a spokesman said.
NON-TOXIC
“Traditional pet beds are often made using polyester fillings and mixed fibre outers, all of which contribute to the build-up of microplastics, damaging the planet’s delicate eco-systems.
“This is where The Big Bean Bag Company enters, revolutionising the pet bed industry with a bed that is entirely environmentally-friendly and non-toxic to your beloved pet.”
The Cornish company believes that, like their owners, pets should never be exposed to harmful products. Just like its range of bean bags, the handmade bed is filled with the fully-compostable, plant-based filling, Biofoam, which is non-toxic. It comes with a detachable, washable organic cotton outer and waterproof base and is available in three sizes.
The new pet beds launched in conjunction with a Crowdfunder on October 18.
